Belmont Students Aid in Audio Recording for Midsouth Emmy Nominated Project

Belmont University audio engineering technology students Rashod Addison, Chris Bienvenu and Nathaniel Buzzutto handled the audio recording for MidSouth Emmy-nominated "Requiem for Colour: A Journey through Lament and Joy." The students helped capture a complex, televised performance for both broadcast and a future album release, gaining real-world experience that extends far beyond the classroom.

Belmont University Illustration Student Joanna Wu Creates Community Mural Honoring Negro Leagues Legacy

Joanna Wu, an illustration major at Watkins College of Art, illustrated a vibrant mural at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville's Edgehill neighborhood that celebrates the local legacy of the Negro Leagues. Her design, selected from among student submissions in collaboration with Metro Arts Nashville and Metro Parks Nashville & Davidson County, incorporates imagery of community landmarks, the famed player Norman "Turkey" Stearnes and the inventive spirit of children who played baseball with makeshift equipment.

Mercy Bustamante

As a senior nursing student at Belmont University, Mercy was completing a clinical rotation at TriStar Centennial Medical Center when a Code Blue alarm sounded. She stepped in, performed CPR under pressure, and helped restore the patient's pulse - an outcome she attributes to her Belmont training, her instructor's mentorship, and her own readiness to act.
