Belmont University Students Perform in Nationally Televised Christmas Concert

More than 800 Belmont University student musicians, singers and faculty along with the Nashville Children's Choir perform in the nationally televised airing of "Christmas at Belmont." Hosted by internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, the annual production of traditional carols, classical masterworks, world music and light-hearted seasonal favorites will premiere on PBS on December 20 at 9 p.m. Central.

Belmont Science Students Win Awards for Poster Presentations

Five Belmont students recently received recognition for the quality of their poster presentations at the 123rd Meeting of the Tennessee Academy of Science. The goal of the Tennessee Academy of Science is to promote scientific research, communication between researchers and the diffusion of knowledge concerning science in Tennessee. Students had the opportunity to share their work with fellow students and professors at colleges and universities throughout Tennessee, including Vanderbilt, Lipscomb

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Fall 2013 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Inaugural McWhorter Society Scholars Selected

Belmont University recently announced the selection of the first six McWhorter Society Scholars. The McWhorter Society, which was formed in 2013, consists of members of the Nashville area community who are engaged in healthcare and the business of healthcare, and who choose to support future healthcare professionals from Belmont University.

Eight Students Selected for Charter 'Boulevard Team' at Belmont University

Eight students were recently selected to participate in Belmont University's charter "Boulevard Team," a group of students who were chosen following an application, interview and skills test to assist the Office of University Marketing in the planning and implementation of Belmont social media and digital marketing initiatives. Applications were open to all Belmont undergraduate and graduate students with skills in content planning and creation for social media, web and video.

Belmont Students Engage in Missions, Service Over Fall Break

For the second year in a row, Belmont's University Ministries office led a team of students on a "Fall Break Plunge," a three-day mission project Oct. 12-14. The Plunge is an allusion to the University's annual "immersion" spring break trip program, which is designed to give students the chance to be immersed in God's world in various destinations, experiencing God's work in a number of contexts. The Plunge enables participants to get a taste of what a week-long mission trip could be.
